Muncie PTO parts for Freightliner trucks
Freightliner vocational trucks are built with Detroit, Allison and Eaton transmissions. Each one has its own Muncie answer.

Detroit DT12
The Detroit DT12 automated manual is common in late model Freightliner chassis. Muncie built the RS6S-P89M for it: a solenoid activated, mechanically shifted rear mount PTO with either a direct mount pump or companion flange output, designed to use the full torque the transmission can deliver. Muncie gives it a bending moment limit of 29.5 lb ft for an unsupported pump. Parts and the interactive parts list are on the Muncie rear mount PTO page.
Allison automatics
Freightliner M2 and SD trucks working as refuse, utility or crane chassis frequently carry an Allison. On the 3000 and 4000 Series, look at the A20, A30, A40 and A50 family, built in clutch shift and constant drive versions, and the CS40 and CS41. On the lighter Allison 1000 and 2000 Series, Muncie's installation manual covers the TG, CS6 and GA6B and GM6B with a spacer and their own backlash setting. Confirm the series from the tag before ordering, because the input gear has to match the transmission.
Eaton Fuller manuals and the Endurant
A Freightliner with an Eaton Fuller manual takes the familiar side mount gear PTOs, led by the TG Series and the higher torque SH and 82. Muncie lists TG Series fitments for the Eaton Endurant automated transmission too, and its RS4S rear mount models fit the Endurant HD and XD.
Typical Freightliner PTO repairs
Leaks at the mounting pad and output seal, worn shift covers, and on clutch shift units the solenoid valve, the clutch pack and the pressure lines. Our troubleshooting guide covers how to tell them apart.
