Most Muncie PTOs carry a model number on a tag or stamping on the housing, for example TG6N-S7113-E1VH. The first letters are the series, the next characters describe the mounting, the drive gear and the speed ratio, and the last group covers the shift method and output. With that string we can pull the right gear set, shift cover and seal kit without taking the unit apart. The Muncie model number guide breaks the codes down series by series.

Common Muncie PTO applications
Muncie power take-offs drive the hydraulic pumps on dump bodies and dump trailers, refuse packers, wreckers and rollbacks, knuckleboom and service cranes, walking floor trailers, tankers and vacuum trucks, and the blowers on dry bulk trailers. Heavier models such as the CS41 are rated for fire pump duty, and the split shaft units take their power from the main driveshaft to run equipment that needs more than a side-mounted PTO can give.
